The IDEX Online Polished Price Report for December 12, 2013

(IDEX Online News) – Although round diamonds saw a handful of rises, most changes were negative, particularly in 5-carat stones, according to this week's IDEX Online Price Report.

And in fancy shape diamonds, as in past weeks, there were again poor levels of activity with many categories unchanged, particularly in mid to large good.

The following are some of the changes in this week's IDEX Online Diamond Price Report.

• 0.18-0.22 cts D / SI2-I1 declines of 3.0%-5.0%
• 0.23-0.29 cts J-K / SI1 declines of 4.0%-5.0%
• 0.30-0.39 cts rises among some mid-color, mid-clarity items
• 0.40-0.44 cts just two changes, both positive
• 0.45-0.49 cts I-J / SI2 rising by around 3.0%
• 0.50-0.69 cts many declines
• 0.70-0.79 cts just one negative change
• 0.80-0.89 cts one decliner
• 0.90-0.99 cts a range of decreases
• 1.00-1.24 cts just one change, downwards
• 1.25-1.49 cts one decrease
• 2 cts M / SI1-SI2 rises of 2.0%
• 3 cts K / IF-VVS1 declines of 1.0%
• 4 cts I / VVS1 -3.0% to $26,100 p/c
• 5 cts many declines in lower colors

• 0.18-0.22 cts just one change, a riser
• 0.23-0.29 cts E-F / VVS2 rises of around 3.0%
• 0.30-0.39 cts D-E / VS2-SI2 rises of around 3.0%
• 0.40-0.44 cts just one change, a riser
• 0.45-0.49 cts E / IF +3.1% to $3,300 p/c
• 0.50-0.69 cts J / SI3-I1 rising by around 3.0%
• 0.70-0.79 cts just two changes, one up, one down
• 0.80-0.89 cts D / IF-VVS1 declines of 2.0-3.0%
• 0.90-0.99 cts I / I1 +3.7% to $2,800 p/c
• 1.00-1.24 cts unchanged
• 1.50-1.99 cts no changes
• 2 cts J / VS2 +3.0% to $6,500 p/c
• 3 cts N / VS2-SI1 declining by more than 3.0%
• 4 cts I / VS1 +3.2% to $16,200 p/c
