The IDEX Online Polished Price Report for March 13, 2014

(IDEX Online News) – Reasonably widespread activity in trading in round diamonds was seen this week, particularly in smaller items, and more increases than declines overall, according to the IDEX Online Price Report.

Fancy shape diamonds saw thin activity, particularly in larger stones, while smaller items saw a number of sharp declines.

• 0.23-0.29 cts many declines in better colors and clarities
• 0.30-0.39 cts I / VS1-SI2 rises of around 3%
• 0.40-0.44 cts range of increases in better colors and mid-clarities
• 0.45-0.49 cts many increases in lower colors and clarities
• 0.50-0.69 cts D / VS2 +3.6% to $4,350 p/c
• 0.70-0.79 cts M-N / IF-VVS1 declines of 2%
• 0.80-0.89 cts just one change, downwards
• 0.90-0.99 cts M / IF-VS1 falls of around 3%
• 1.00-1.24 cts just one change, downwards
• 1.25-1.49 cts L / VVS1-VVS2 declines of 2%
• 2 cts I / VVS2 -3.2% to $12,200 p/c
• 3 cts two declines
• 4 cts K / VS2 +3.2% to $13,000 p/c
• 5 cts J / VS2 -3.1% to $21,900 p/c
