GSI Opening Lab in Botswana

(IDEX Online News) – Gemological Science International (GSI) one of the largest independently owned gemological laboratories in the world, is to open a lab in Gaborone, Botswana – its ninth lab.

“After decades of just mining rough diamonds, Botswana's capital Gaborone now cuts, polishes and sells diamonds which creates a demand for gemological laboratories and education,” said Mark Gershburg, CEO of GSI.

GSI is expanding its operations with offices in major markets worldwide. GSI opened a lab in Surat last month.

“GSI brings to Gaborone the same high level of diamond grading, consistency and customer service we have in all GSI laboratories worldwide,” added Gershburg.

In addition, GSI Gaborone plans to establish educational programs, courses and seminars.
