Endiama Enters Hospitality Business with Launch of $40M Hotel
February 08, 15(IDEX Online News) – Angolan state-owned diamond mining company Endiama has opened a $40 million four star hotel in the country’s capital, Luanda. The hotel is called “The Diamond.”
The hotel, which is located in the center of the city has 179 rooms, eight meeting rooms, a 300-person auditorium, several restaurants, a gym, a beauty salon and a swimming pool.
Endiama chairman Antonio Carlos Sumbula said the opening of the hotel was part of the company’s plans to invest outside of diamond mining. “Diamonds are a non-renewable resource, and the company is therefore keen to invest in areas other than mining,” reported ventures-africa.com.
Angola is Africa’s third-largest diamond producer.
