IDEX Online Polished Price Changes – August 20, 2015

(IDEX Online News) – Round diamond prices continue to drop, especially in the smaller sizes – below 0.7 carats. Goods of 5 carats and above also saw negative price changes, especially in the lower colors.

The situation was much more positive when it came to the prices of fancy cut diamonds this week, especially in stones below 3 carats in size. Diamonds above 3 carats saw no price movement.

Following are some of the main changes in this week's IDEX Online Diamond Price Report.

• 0.18-0.22 cts many negative changes including D-I / SI1 down 3-4%
  
• 0.23-0.29 cts changes including D / VVS1-VS1  and G-H / VVS2+ down 2-3%
  
• 0.30-0.39 cts negative changes including D / VVS2-VS2 and SI2 down 2-4%
  
• 0.40-0.44 cts H and J / VS2 down 2%
  
• 0.45-0.49 cts changes including F / IF and VVS2 down 2.5-3%
  
• 0.50-0.69 cts a few negative changes including M / SI3-I1 down 4-5%
  
• 0.70-0.79 cts L-M / I1-2 up 4-5.5%
  
• 0.80-0.89 cts F and H / VS2 down 1% and L / I1-2 up 4-5%
  
• 0.90-0.99 cts H / I1-2 down 3-4.5%
  
• 1.00-1.24 cts some positive changes including H / VS1-2 up 3%
  
• 1.25-1.49 cts I / SI3-I1 down 2.5-4%
  
• 1.50-1.99 cts H / SI2 and J / I1 up 3%
  
• 2 cts F / VVS1-2 and J-L / VVS1 up 3%
  
• 3 cts no change
  
• 4 cts K / SI2 down 3%
  
• 5 cts changes including L-M / SI1 up 2-3% and K-M / SI2 down 3%

• 0.18-0.22 cts no change
  
• 0.23-0.29 E / SI2 down 5% and F / SI1 down 4%
  
• 0.30-0.39 cts E-F / SI1-3 up 3-4% and I / VVS2-SI1 up 3-4.5%
  
• 0.40-0.44 cts positive changes including F / IF and VVS2-VS1 up 2-3%
  
• 0.45-0.49 cts positive changes including H-I / IF and G-H / VVS1 up 2%
  
• 0.50-0.69 cts changes including F and H-K / SI2 up 2-4% and K / VVS1-2 up 3%
  
• 0.70-0.79 cts L / VS2-SI2 up 4-4.5% and E / I1 down 2%
