(IDEX Online News) – The downward price trend continues for round diamonds. Goods below 0.9 carats saw the majority of changes in the better colors and medium to better clarities, with prices dropping up to 4 percent.

 

There was less movement in diamonds above 1 carat in size, which even saw a few prices increases in certain isolated categories.

 

There was far less movement this week when it came to fancy goods. Diamonds below 0.4 carats and those above 2 carats maintained the status quo from last week. Items in between saw some movement, all positive, although it was limited. Even so, prices increased in some categories up to 5 percent, with the majority of increases in the 2-4-percent range.

·         0.90-0.99 cts G / VS2-SI2 down 2-3% and K / VVS1-VS1 up 3%   

 

·         1.00-1.24 cts D and G-H / I1 down 2-4%

 

·         1.25-1.49 cts a few changes including I / SI3-I1 down 2-3% and L-M / I1 up 4%

 

·         1.50-1.99 cts changes including K / VS2-SI2 down 2-4% and L-N / I1 up 4-5%

 

·         2 cts a few changes including K / VS1-SI1 down 2-3%

 

·         3 cts no change
