IDE Appoints Eli Avidar as Managing Director
January 14, 16(IDEX Online News) – The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) has appointed Eli Avidar as its new managing director, replacing Moti Besser who completed his two terms in the position.
Avidar has served as the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI) managing director since 2007. He previously held several Foreign Service and government positions, including Consul-General to Hong Kong and Macau from 2001-2005, head of Israel’s Trade Representation Office in Doha, Qatar, from 1999-2001, and also as a foreign policy advisor.
Recently elected IDE president Yoram Dvash said that the appointment would strengthen the position of the exchange, and of the wider Israeli diamond industry.
“His management style, experience in the international diamond arena, diplomatic skills…and his dedication to the well-being of the Israel diamond industry and trade, make him a perfect candidate for this position,” said Dvash.
