GIA to offer Graduate Diamonds Diploma Program in Dubai
August 29, 16(IDEX Online News) – The GIA will offer its internationally recognized eight-week Graduate Diamonds (GD) diploma program in Dubai beginning October 20.
The course allows professionals and aspiring professionals an easy access to world-class gemology education.
The GD program combines theory and hands-on practical learning to teach students the GIA-created 4Cs of diamond quality and how to grade diamonds in the D-Z color range. Students will learn how to use gemological instruments to grade and identify diamonds; how to detect synthetics, treatments, stimulants and fracture-filled diamonds; and how to confidently speak the language of diamonds to suppliers, vendors and customers.
In addition to classroom lessons, GIA facilitates hands-on learning through regular market visits – such as manufacturing facilities and retail houses – to gain an understanding of day-to-day business.
The GIA conducts regular courses in major trade centers throughout the Gulf region, including Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. The Institute’s courses focus on diamonds, colored stones, pearls, jewelry design, retail and more. GIA’s intake station in Dubai offers grading services for diamonds, colored stones and pearls to consumers and members of the trade across the Middle East.
