ALROSA Posts Sales of $18.2M of Special Stones in Vladivostok
September 05, 16(IDEX Online) – An international sale of special-sized diamonds weighing more than 10 carats generated sales of more than $18.2 million at a tender and auction held by Alrosa in Vladivostok, TASS reported.
"Such sales will become regular in Vladivostok, their volumes will increase," said Alrosa President Andrei Zharkov, as cited by Rough & Polished.
"We consider the results of our tenders to be more than successful. All the diamonds we brought to Vladivostok were sold, and at a significant premium," said Alrosa vice-president Yuri Okoemov.
All 19 lots worth a total of $14,636,000 were sold during the auction of special-sized diamonds. The largest stone, weighing 401.97 carats, went under the hammer for more than $3 million. The most expensive stone, weighing 125.79 carats, was sold for $3.64 million.
At the tender, all 23 lots were sold for a total of $3.618 million. The largest stone, weighing 40.25 carats, was sold for $706,000. The most expensive stone weighed 20.31 carats and was sold for $1.288 million.
