The IDEX Online Polished Price Report - August 2017

(IDEX Online News) – As in July, there were reasonably high levels of activity in round diamonds last month. Declines were noticeable of 2-4 percent in some 0.23-0.29 carat stones, as well as in 1.00-1.24 carat diamonds in D-F colors and VVS1 to SI1 clarities and in 1.50-1.99 carat goods in E-H colors in IF-VS1 clarities. Meanwhile, 0.30-0.39 carat diamonds in D-L colors and IF-SI1 clarities saw increases, as did a wide range of categories in the 0.80-0.89 category.

There were a relatively high number of rises among fancy diamonds. This was particularly the case in diamonds in the 0.50-0.69-carat category in D-I, VVS1-SI2 goods, the 1.00-1.24 carat category in top colors and a wide range of clarities, while the 1.50-1.99 category saw many rises in VS1-SI1 in better colors.
