IDEX Online Polished Price Changes – August 27, 2015

(IDEX Online News) – There was quite a bit of price movement in rounds, especially in goods below 0.9 carats. Smaller goods tended to the negative, while diamonds above 0.9 carats saw more positive, albeit isolated, changes.

The situation was more positive when it came to the prices of fancy cut diamonds this week, especially in stones from 0.3-3.99 carats in the medium to better color range. Goods sized from 4-4.99 carats saw negative changes, especially in the better colors.

• 0.23-0.29 cts negative changes including G / VVS2+ down 2-3%
  
• 0.30-0.39 cts negative changes including H-J / SI1-2 down 3%
  
• 0.40-0.44 cts D-G / VS2 down 2-3.5% and H-J / VS1 down 2%
  
• 0.45-0.49 cts J / VS1-2 down 2% and H-J / I1 up 3-4%
  
• 0.50-0.69 cts negative changes including E-H / VS1 down 3%
  
• 0.70-0.79 cts E-F / I3 down 4% and L-N / I1 down 4-5%
  
• 0.80-0.89 cts a mix of positive and negative changes

• 1.00-1.24 cts F and L / IF up 2-3%
  
• 1.25-1.49 cts a few positive changes including L / IF up 2%

• 5 cts G / SI2 up 0.5% and K / SI1 up 3%
