Jewelers Mutual Completes its $2 Million ‘Band Together’ Campaign
August 09, 16(IDEX Online News) – Leading jewelry industry insurer, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, has announced the completion of its $2 million donation campaign, “Band Together.” The company invited its policyholders and the general public to vote online at its website for their favorite cause.
The recently tallied votes resulted in St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, receiving Jewelers Mutual’s $1 million top donation. Habitat for Humanity will receive a donation of $700,000 and Feeding America/Food Banks Canada will share $300,000.
"What an incredible and humbling honor to be voted to receive $1 million from Jewelers Mutual Insurance Band Together campaign and to be included with the remarkable work of Habitat for Humanity and Feeding America," said ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital president and CEO Richard Shadyac Jr.
Jewelers Mutual president and CEO Scott Murphy said that even though the company had a long history of charitable giving, he was particularly gratified by their policyholder’s and the public’s generosity.
“Band Together reached the success it did because of the tremendous generosity of our voters to come back to vote every day and help spread the word,” added Jewelers Mutual vice president, chief marketing officer Trina Woldt.
