The IDEX Online Polished Price Report - November 2017

(IDEX Online News) – As in October, there were relatively few price changes in round diamonds last month, particularly in stones of 3 carats and larger. There were strong declines, of 4 percent, in 0.80-0.89 carat stones in the I3 category, as well as in 0.90-0.99 carat diamonds in E-G colors and I1 clarity, and in 2.00-2.99 carat goods in E-F colors in IF-VVS1 clarities. Meanwhile, 0.30-0.39 carat diamonds saw increases in a range of categories, as did 0.40-0.44 carat diamonds in mid to lower colors in higher clarities, and in a wide range of 0.80-0.89 diamonds.

Fancy diamonds also saw relatively few price changes last month. There were declines in the 0.80-0.89-carat category in E-G, SI2 to SI3 goods, in several categories of 1.50-1.99 carat stones, and in the 5.00-5.99 category in F-J, SI3-I2 stones. Meanwhile, there were increases in top colors and clarities in 0.30-0.39 carat and 1.25-1.49 carat stones, as well as in H-J colors, IF-VVS2 diamonds in the 1.50-1.99 category.
